HILLWOD 23 is a 2-parter with equal doses of long burn and intense burn!
- Complete a 10 minute hill climb at 80% of your top, full gas pace. If you don’t have a hill that long, then do repeats on a shorter hill for 10 minutes.
- Rest 2-4 min and then complete a 10 minute AMRAP of a set of stairs that’s 50-100 stairs long.
- #hillseeker #hillwod to share your photos or experience!
Notes from Jeff’s test run of this HILLWOD: I did this one at the end of a day when I was quiet tired. I had just spent a few hours on emails and 6 hours doing a mix of Podcast recording sessions and post production, so this was a major “”desk day”” where I was feeling drained and really needed some movement time. It was 8PM when I started and it took about 10 minutes to start feeling alive with my running legs. After a 10 minute climb on a hill in Richterswil that I don’t usually train on, I entered the forest and ran to what I call “”the Gauntet””, a steep set of 68 steps on a trail in the Riedhözli. In the 10 min AMRAP, I completed 511 steps and felt completely energized throughout! I added on a 5KM trail and lake run home and that included a refreshing plunge in the Zürisee on the way home.
Have a great hill workout!
