HILLWOD 26 is all about up-hill speed play — but it’s painful play!
Fartlek Hill Sprints (go HARD!): Complete 15 fartlek hill sprints. Minimum duration 20 seconds. Max 90 seconds. Duration/target is spontaneously decided for each interval.
Choice recovery time, but NEVER stop at the crest of the hill. Always run just a bit past before taking a rest break.
2 intervals must be backwards running.
- Bonus: Lunge Walk 1-2 hills as a sub for the fartlek interval

Notes from Jeff’s test run of this HILLWOD: I did this one in Encinitas, California at the start of the SEALFIT SOF Immersion Academy, joining the Academy participants in all of these intervals. Coaches need to train and suffer too! We did all rest breaks in a low squat hold and lunge walked 2 hills. I led this one as a silent evolution, so the mental toughness challenge was increased. On the last 3 intervals we exited from silent mode and used the Other People concept — which was very effective! By the way, I highly recommend the SEALFIT Academies, and there are versions for every level. Check them out!
