HILLWOD 28 is a one hill run — in the middle of a hard 10K.
Run 10KM at tempo pace with a single hard hill or stair climb exactly at the half-way point.
- The climb can be as short as 1 minute in duration, but you’ve got to hit it hard.
- Organize your course in whatever way it takes that the hill or stairs is exactly at the halfway point. Be creative.

Notes from Jeff’s test run of this HILLWOD: I did this one in Encinitas, California during the SEALFIT SOF Immersion Academy at 6AM before a coaching shift. I joined Coach Mel’s Encinitas stair challenge while in town, so I’m working through 10 separate out-back runs to the various beach access staircases in the area. I ran HARD 5KM to the Grandview stairs (the very top of which are in the above photo), sprinted down and up and then ran hard back in a rare morning thunderstorm. It was an awesome run, full of energy and life!
Have a great hill workout!
