HILLWOD 37 is all about training with a friend. So, grab a buddy and hit this one together!

Instructions:

Complete Sections 1 & 2, all up hill:

Section 1-Sprint to me

A sprints, then walks

The moment A walks, B sprints to A

The moment B arrives, A sprints, while B walks

Continue this pattern until A & B have both run 4 sprints

Then, do 2min easy running or walking up hill

 

Section 2 – Slingshot

 

A&B separate on the hill at least 30 meters

A sprints, then walks

The moment A starts to walk, B runs easy to A, then slingshots past and sprints

The moment B starts to walk, A runs easy to B, then slingshots past and sprints

 

Continue this pattern until A & B have both run 4 sprints

Notes from Jeff’s test run of this HILLWOD: I did this one with Rahel, a friend and runner I coach. We started the run near the Hillseeker Training Center in Richterswil, Switzerland and ran a great local hill that overlooks the ruins of a very old fort. It was a cold and gray early December day. I’m not sure that either of us was ready for the first interval, but we jumped into it and then the game took over. This can be challenging if you run long intervals, but it has a built-in spirit of play and competition, so we both got into it and had a great session!
