HILLWOD 36 is a play on the infamous Tabata procol of 8x20sec sprints with 10sec rest breaks. This is an ugly variation and a great opportunity to EMBRACE THE SUCK!

Complete the following, all up hill:

In summary, it’s a 20-40-60-80 up hill sprint ladder with 10 sec rest breaks the first trip up the ladder and 20sec rest breaks the second trip up the ladder.

Notes from Jeff’s test run of this HILLWOD: I did this one in the forest near our home in Richterswil, Switzerland. It was the first cold run of the season and parts of the trail were covered in ice. Those 10 second rest breaks at the beginning were so short! It makes the 20sec breaks in the 2nd round feel like 20 minutes! I nicknamed this workout Frain Breeze, because the cold air stung my lungs and left me with brain freeze after the last 80sec interval. I loved stretching out the tabata intervals and hated how long that 80 second interval felt. This one is a challenge, but it passes quickly, so it’s worth pushing HARD in. Very happy with HILLWOD 36. Just 4 more to go!

Have a great hill workout!
